Review: Sweeny Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Once again Tim Burton. Once again a musical. This time, though, with real actors. And among them, once again, Johnny Depp. And it has been already six the collaborations between the Gothic filmmaker and the idiosyncratic performer.

Movie Review: Taken
Liam Neeson does his best Arnie impersonation, taking on a group of Albanian thugs who have kidnapped his daughter to sell her to sexual slavery in Europe. Not original, but it’s fantastic viewing nonetheless.

Movie Review: The Dark Knight
Holy Oscars Batman! The Dark Knight is definitely not short on action or Oscar winning performances. It makes you literally pop out of your seat with fright and it is full of surprises you don’t suspect or anticipate.

Movie Review Hellboy II: The Golden Army
As with all my movie reviews, I shall give you an honest opinion of the movie, going through both its good and bad points. Now, to start with, and I must write this before I forget, I had a major issue with the contingency of the movie, centering around the character Abe Sapian. Those of you familiar to this series of comic know that Abe is a water inhabitant that in order to survive out in the open must wear the water equivalent of an oxygen tank.

Movie Trailer: Dark Knight

Movie Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Read a movie review of the newest Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. As a Harry Potter fan, I approach every new movie warily. This one, though, was nearly perfect in its treatment of a book far too large to be adequately addressed in a two-hour movie.

Movie Reviews: SiCKO (2007)
This film is frightening and at times extremely funny. Michael Moore manages to expertly push the audience in shock and makes everyone feel like something needs to be done. I guess I feel this is a good idea, almost everyone knows of a health insurance nightmare and in many peoples opinions medical care is just too expensive but personally I had severe problems with certain aspects of Michael Moore’s techniques.

As Harry begins his 5th year at Hogwarts School Witchcraft and Wizardry, the ministry of magic puts out lies surrounding Harry’s future confrontation with Voldermort. Hogwarts decides to bring in the strict and ruthless Professor Dolores Jane Umbridge to calm the chaos around the school.

The Houses at Hogwarts
If one character has defined literature of the last decade or so, then it has to be J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. And with a major portion of Harry’s life and adventures being unraveled at his school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it is quite obvious that there has been an increasing interest among the readers to learn and remember more about the institute and the ways in which it functions. An integral part to the school is the various houses that the students are camped into. Following is a brief write-up highlighting the major features of the houses in the Harry Potter series.

As she begins to inflict her rules and regulations on the students at Hogwarts they begin to find that with her as their teacher, they’ll never be ready for the outside world. So Harry along with his friends decides to take things into their own hands and begin to learn magic the real way. As Harry starts having visions of terrible events happening with the Ministries very walls he decides to take action, leading himself and his friends into battle, ultimately teaching them what friendship, loyalty and sacrifice really means.

After a lonely summer on Privet Drive, Harry returns to a Hogwarts full of ill-fortune. Few of students and parents believe him or Dumbledore that Voldemort is really back. The ministry had decided to step in by appointing a new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher that proves to be the nastiest person Harry has ever encountered. Harry also can’t help stealing glances with the beautiful Cho Chang. To top it off are dreams that Harry can’t explain, and a mystery behind something Voldemort is searching for. The Transformers Movie
If there is one movie that’s destined for today’s technological and special effects advances, it comes out in July of 2007: the Transformers.

4 GM Vehicles, Stars of Transformers
General Motors has recently hosted its sixth annual ten pre-Oscar fashion event at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood with four new movie star guests namely Bumblebee, Autobot Jazz, Autobot Ratchet and Ironhide —creations of DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures in partnership with Hasbro’s forthcoming July 4th action-adventure release–Transformers.

Transformers Action Figures
The Transformers are back! It seems everyone is looking for Transformers action figures. The Fourth of July is highly anticipated and will not be long forgotten by Transformers fans old and new. The film, and all the hype surrounding it, is sure not to disappoint as well as the Transformers action figures and toys that have fans in frenzy!

Transformers: Movie Trailer
A long time ago, far away on the planet of Cybertron, a war was being waged between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) for control over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to whoever possessed it. The Autobots managed to smuggle the Allspark off the planet, but Megatron blasted off in search of it. He eventually tracked it to the planet of Earth (circa 1850), but his reckless desire for power sent him right into the Arctic Ocean, and the sheer cold forced him into a paralyzed state. His body was later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, and before going into a comatose state Megatron used the last of his energy to engrave a map, showing the location of the Allspark, into the Captain’s glasses, and send a transmission to Cybertron. He is then carted away by the Captain’s ship. A century later, Sam Witwicky, nicknamed Spike by his friends, buys his first car. To his shock, he discovers it to be Bumblebee, an Autobot in disguise who is to protect Spike, as he bears the Captain’s glasses and the map carved on them. But Bumblebee is not the only Transformer to have arrived on Earth - in the desert of Qatar, the Decepticons Blackout and Scorponok attack a U.S. military base, causing the Pentagon to send their special Sector Seven agents to capture all “specimens of this alien race,” and Spike and his girlfriend Mikaela find themselves in the middle of a grand battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, stretching from Hoover Dam all the way to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, within the depths of the Pentagon, the cryogenically stored form of Megatron awakens.

Why Live Free or Die Hard Must be a Box Office Hit
Bruce Willis’ career is major jeopardy unless his latest action flick surpasses the 100 million mark by August of 2007. Too much competition from newer action stars will jeopardize his long career.

Movie Review: Die Hard Series (1, 2, 3)
What differentiates these three action classics is not the way Willis plays McClane but the types of VILLAINS he faces.

Screenplay Seminar: Die Hard (1988) Deconstructed
The Hero’s Journey is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon.

Movie Review: Live Free or Die Hard
This is my review for the movie Live Free or Die Hard. When a criminal plot is in place to take down the entire computer and technological structure that supports the economy of the United States (and the world), it’s up to a decidedly old school hero, police detective John McClane, to take down the conspiracy, aided by a young hacker.

Movie Review: Ratatouille
This is my review for the movie Ratatouille. Remy is a rat, constantly risking life in an expensive French restaurant because of his love of good food, as well as a desire to become a chef. Yet, obviously, this is a rather tough dream for a rat. But opportunity knocks when a young boy, who desperately needs to keep his job at the restaurant, despite his lack of cooking abilities, discovers and partners the young Remy. Its up to the two of them to avoid the insane head chef, bring the rest of Remy’s family up to his standards, win his partner a girl, and of course, produce the finest Ratatouille in all of France.

What is Ratatouille?
Disney’s new movie Ratatouille, to come out June 29th (Hey Disney! Free advertising!), had me wondering: what exactly is ratatouille? Sure, I’d heard of it, but I wanted to know more about the likes of a French classic that cooked up its own Disney movie recipe. So, I took to the research, and now I’m here to answer any similar questions you may have. Ask away!

Ratatouille Trailer
Academy Award-winning director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) and the amazing storytellers at Pixar Animation Studios (Cars, Finding Nemo) take you into an entirely new and original world where the unthinkable combination of a rat and a 5-star gourmet restaurant come together for the ultimate fish-out-of-water tale. In the hilarious new animated-adventure, RATATOUILLE, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the city of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unwanted visitor in the kitchen at one of Paris’ most exclusive restaurants, Remy forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini, the garbage boy, who inadvertently discovers Remy’s amazing talents. They strike a deal, ultimately setting into motion a hilarious and exciting chain of extraordinary events that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down. Remy finds himself torn between following his dreams or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End Continues the Saga in Excellent Fashion, Savvy Mate?
What a relief! Like many of my fellow reviewers, I held my breath after Dead Man’s Chest hoping installment three Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End would not be left in the chest with Davy Jones’ disgusting, slimy beating heart. Three could have gone in the dumper with the average performance of Pirates two, but thankfully At World’s End gets an excellent rating like the first Pirates’ presentation The Curse of the Black Pearl.

On the heels of 2005’s blockbuster The 40-Year-Old Virgin, writer/director Judd Apatow again mines hilarity from the relatably human in a comedy about a one-night stand with unexpected consequences: Knocked Up. Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy, Roswell) joins Virgin alums Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann for a comic look about the best thing that will ever ruin your best-laid plans: parenthood. Allison Scott (Heigl) is an up-and-coming entertainment journalist whose 24-year-old life is on the fast track. But it gets seriously derailed when a drunken one-nighter with slacker Ben Stone (Rogen) results in an unwanted pregnancy. Faced with the prospect of going it alone or getting to know the baby’s father, Allison decides to give the lovable doof a chance. An overgrown kid who has no desire to settle down, Ben learns that he has a big decision to make with his kid’s mom-to-be: will he hit the road or stay in the picture? Courting a woman you’ve just Knocked Up, however, proves to be a little difficult when the two try their hands at dating. As they discover more about one another, it becomes painfully obvious that they’re not the soul mates they’d hoped they might be. With Allison’s harried sister Debbie (Mann) and hen-pecked brother-in-law Pete (Rudd) the only parenting role models the young lovers have, things get even more confusing. Should they raise the baby together? What makes a happy lifetime partnership after all? A couple of drinks and one wild night later, they’ve got nine confusing months to figure it out…

Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, 2006
I probably have lost my sense of making coherent connections out of broken bits of narration because throughout the movie I couldn’t help but wonder - what the hell is really going on here? - Must see to appreciate the magic of special effects and world-class make up transforming a ship full of adults into amazingly freaky aquatic monsters. Also - if you have never seen a Godzilla-size octopus attacking a ship and eating it alive like a pretzel, this is your chance to savor it. Bon appetite!

Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean 2
The mangy dog in Pirates of The Caribbean 2 got the biggest laugh today, during the movie’s opening afternoon, and deservedly so. I tried to stay awake, and believe me, I don’t sleep at the movies. People next to me, obviously Johnny Depp fans, laughed at the scenery, providing he was in the frame. Nothing in the dialogue helped him a bit. His mugging, and bizarre sideways strutting were still fun, but he, and Keira Knightely were on camera far too little, and Orlando Bloom, or should I say, Or-Blando Bloom, that improbable love interest, was homely and un-swashbuckling beyond belief. This is the middle part of a trilogy, apparently, and according to a New York Times reviewer, the movie doesn’t really have a beginning or end: it’s all middle. I have to agree. My advice is to take your $11 or $12 and purchase the first installment of Pirates on video, says Dr. Gary S. Goodman, best-selling author of 12 books, over 700 articles, and Fortune 1000 consultant.

Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean 2: It’s not a Treasure by Far
I’m not sure how to start this review, the reason being is, I was once told if you got nothing nice to say, don’t say anything, or always say something nice if your going to slam something next. This movie is fragmented, or disjointed throughout its long three-hour worthless scenes.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean opened at Disneyland in 1967 and became an instant classic. But it’s a picture memory from sometime early in 1966, inside a basic warehouse building at WED Enterprises, that still resonates most strongly with me.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest
It’s been a while since the last sea adventure featuring the likes of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), his lovely fiancé Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), and the charismatic swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). This time, director Gore Verbinski has given us more of the same, which is good, considering the original Pirates of the Caribbean movie was such a blast.

Screenplay: Shrek (2001) Deconstructed
The Hero’s Journey is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon.

Movie Review: Shrek
A modern-day fairy tale rife with cutting edge humor, Shrek is a computer-animated film for the ages.

Shrek 1 And 2
There is very little to say about these films that you probably don’t already know. Shrek is that lovable ogre who likes to be scary but rarely is. The films are made by DreamWorks and both of them [Shrek 1 and Shrek 2] can be watched either alone or together.

Shrek: Best Children Tales Character
My small niece is a great fan of Shrek and I was not surprised to see the theme of her second birthday party as Shrek. This character is the most widely used character in most of the children’s tales. Only the name of Shrek excites the kids as he work wonders in the tales for kids since a long time and continuing to do so.
