Savor The Apple Martini
Insight always comes to me in the latest hour of the evening. This evening was shadowed with the feelings of melancholy and sadness. Sometimes you just want to hide from the world and the only one you can handle talking to is your best girlfriend. On this evening we went to our favorite martini bar to bitch about life, we knew that we could hide out on our favorite corner couch, eat chocolate and drink a good martini. We also knew that we would hopefully not be bothered by anyone we knew. It is always great when your girlfriend is in the same bad mood that you are. I knew we both felt like crap when I realized that neither of us had done our hair. The ponytail was a fashion statement that evening. Martinis are usually the inspiration for laughter and giggles however on that evening I could tell that they were going to be the catalyst of tears.

TV Addiction Quiz
Are you addicted to TV? Find out now!
Disney/ABC Deserve Credit: Sept. 11th ABC Movie
It is rare, rare indeed when a major media entity bucks the trend, and does what it believes in. Recently ABC under Disney’s guidance aired the $40 million production, The Path to 9/11. This was a five hour-two night portrayal of the events that led to 9/11. Having gone through the history of terrorism over the last 25 years, I believe this portrayal was as accurate as you can get. The screenwriters were not politically motivated in any way. They could have come down on the Clinton Administration much harder than what you saw; Bush was not given a free pass either.
CSI: NY: Back to the Big Apple
Easily the darkest, most hard-bitten member of the CSI family, CSI: NY returns this fall for a third season: a season that opens following the violent murder of a former CSI, with another recovering from a coma.
Doctor Who is Back! The Time Lord Returns
There was always something a little risky in attempting to continue that venerable British sci-fi franchise, Doctor Who. Reviving a show that has run since the early sixties and gathered millions upon millions of loyal followers can be a dangerous business. Done correctly, though, it can be very profitable.

Arctic Monkey: Fake Tales of San Francisco
Video for the Arctic Monkeys single Fake Tales Of San Francisco. Arctic Monkeys are a four-piece indie rock/post-punk revival band from High Green, a suburb of Sheffield, England. Their first two singles, I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor and When the Sun Goes Down, both went straight to number one in the UK Singles Chart, and the band’s debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, holds the record for the largest first week sales of a debut album in UK history [1] and won the 2006 Mercury Prize. The band won Best New Act at the 2006 Brit Awards, and became the first band to win NME Awards for Best New Band and Best British Band in the same year. Originally established in 2002, the band currently consists of Alex Turner on lead vocals and guitar, Jamie Cook playing rhythm guitar, Matt Helders on drums and backing vocals and Nick O’Malley, bass guitarist (formerly Andy Nicholson).
Archie Bronson Outfit: Cherry Lips
Brand new Video from Archie Bronson Outfit! Bred in Wiltshire, it took relocation to southwest London for the dirty psychedelic blues-rock of singer/guitarist Sam Windett, bassist Dorian Hobday, and drummer Mark Cleveland — aka Archie Bronson Outfit — to be discovered. Moving to attend art school (studying, incidentally, alongside future members of the Duke Spirit and the Beatings), the rock trio was randomly discovered one night by the president of Domino Records at his favorite local pub, The Cat’s Back. The band was signed to the label by August 2003, and its well-received debut, Fur, was issued the following summer. Gigging continued in support of the record, including a handful of U.K. support dates for the Black Keys in fall 2004. The guys followed up in March 2006 with their sophomore effort, Derdang Derdang, produced by Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon) and recorded in Nashville, TN. The album was issued in the United States that July, as Archie Bronson Outfit were nominated back home for Best New Act on the 2006 MOJO Honours List.
Adem: Launch Yourself
New video for Adem’s track Launch Yourself taken from his second album Love and Other Planets. Adem is the solo project of Fridge bassist, Adem Ilhan. Despite Fridge’s post-rock tendencies, Adem specialises in downbeat acoustic songwriting, utilising his knowledge of post-rock to give his folk-ish songs interesting and unexpected idiosyncrasies. Adem admits never having sung before 2002, though when his debut album Adem - Homesongs was released in 2004 it received widespread critical acclaim as much for his voice as for the tales he tells and his way with melody.
Clinic: Harvest

Psapp: Tricycle
Psapps video for new single Tricycle. The English indie rock duo Psapp (pronounced sap) feature Carim Clasmann (guitar/producer) and Galia Durant (vocals/keyboards/violins). Together they create a charming pop mix of sultry vocals and quirky electronic beats. Tiger, My Friend marked Psapp’s album debut for Leaf in 2004. Two years later, Psapp jumped ship to Domino (Franz Ferdinand, the Arctic Monkeys, Clearlake) for the release of their second album. The Only Thing I Ever Wanted arrived in June 2006, highlighting a more focused design to Psapp’s friendly, creative energy. Stateside dates with Juana Molina and Jose Gonzalez coincided with its release that summer. Psapp ventured into the land of television in late 2005; their song Cosy in the Rocket is the theme song for the ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy. Their songs have also appeared in selected episodes of The O.C. and Nip/Tuck.

Many will think they have the will power to withstand the cuddly cute manipulations that puppies are famous for, however few will succeed.

Hollywoodland: Diane Lane Interview
Diane Lane is interviewed by Chuck the Movieguy for the movie Hollywoodland. Hollywoodland is a uniquely compelling exploration of fame and identity, inspired by one of Hollywood’s most infamous real-life mysteries. The film is the feature directorial debut for Allen Coulter (Emmy and DGA Award nominee for his work on The Sopranos and Sex and the City). June 16, 1959. The glamour of Tinseltown permanently fades for actor George Reeves, the heroic Man of Steel on TV’s Adventures of Superman, as the actor dies in his Hollywood Hills home. Felled by a single gunshot wound, Reeves (portrayed in Hollywoodland by Academy Award winner Ben Affleck) leaves behind a fiancée - aspiring starlet Leonore Lemmon (Robin Tunney) - and millions of fans who are shocked by his death. But it is his grieving mother, Helen Bessolo (Lois Smith), who will not let the questionable circumstances surrounding his demise go unaddressed. Helen seeks justice, or at least answers. The Los Angeles Police Department closes the case, but Helen hires - for $50 a day - private detective Louis Simo (Academy Award winner Adrien Brody). Simo soon ascertains that the torrid affair Reeves had with Toni Mannix (Academy Award nominee Diane Lane), the wife of MGM studio executive Eddie Mannix (Academy Award nominee Bob Hoskins), might hold the key to the truth. But truth and justice are not so easily found in Hollywood. Simo pursues dangerous and elusive leads in both high and low places and, in trying to turn up the heat, risks getting burned. The detective also uncovers unexpected connections to his own life as the case turns more personal and he learns more about Reeves himself. Behind the icon was a complex man who gave his life to Hollywood in more ways than one.
