The more your dog is around people and learns to not bother them while they’re talking to you, the easier this test will be to pass.

Explain to them before you permit them to pet the dog that you’re trying to teach the dog to sit quietly for petting and if the dog jumps up, to please refrain from petting him at that time.

Dog Training: Step 3 to the Canine Good Citizen Title
Well, guess that means a bath before the test. But, it is important for the dog’s health that he is groomed regularly.

Dog Training: Step 4 to the Canine Good Citizen Title
While they’re not looking for perfect heeling here, they do expect you to be able to walk with your dog and make the moves the Evaluator tells you without getting tangled up.

Dog Training: Step 5 to the Canine Good Citizen Title
This is another place where all your socialization work will pay off. Again, you’ll be expected to make some turns in the course of this test and to keep moving at your pace, not the dog’s. You’re halfway through it.
